Twitter just announced that they have developed a new set of frameworks that allows
Twitter to work anywhere on the web. The new platform called @anywhere works similar like
Facebook’s Facebook Connect. Third party websites will be able to plug in @anywhere to integrate some basic
Twitter function without requiring users to navigate away from the web page.
And rather than implementing APIs, Twitter has made the integration simple by just needing the website to drop in a few lines of javascript. While the new function is expected to be widely used in the future by the websites we visit everyday, the initial participating sites include
Amazon,
Bing,
Digg,
eBay,
Meebo,
MSNBC.com.
